I am the Product Manager for Event Management with IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus and have many years experience in software development and deployment. My involvement with Fault Management and Service Assurance with the Netcool product family particularly with Netcool/OMNIbus and related topics extends back over 15 years beginning with several years working for a major service provider leading Netcool software implementation within two Network Operations and Customer Service Centers providing global 24*7 service management.
Ian Smith is Chief Technology Officer for Butterfly Software, responsible for the vision and direction of the company in addressing the storage and backup challenges facing businesses. Ian is the driving force behind the Butterfly concept, having worked for over a decade with major technology vendors and systems integrators, delivering storage and backup solutions to major corporations. After achieving an Honours degree in Geology Ian started his IT career initially working for the British Antarctic Survey – following this role he became part of the innovative development and implementation team that built the HSBC internet banking environment. As one of the co-founders of Butterfly in January 2009 (along with CSO Tom Hughes and COO Craig Moore), Ian has been a driving force in the technology direction that the company has taken in its short history.
As a CTO, Ian looks outside the technical role and works closely with other departments to understand marketing, commercial and financial aspects to formulate a coherent vision of new technology that can be delivered in a commercial environment. As Ian himself says, ” In a fast-paced world it’s crucial to be able to adapt to change, embrace new ideas and technology and, what I strive to do daily, to enjoy IT. When possible, I carry this through to my personal life enjoying everything to the full, including adventure motorcycling – and I dream of competing in the Dakar endurance event.”
Juscelino Candido de Lima Junior is a IBM Thought Leader (Level 3) IT Specialist, IBM inventor and a workload automation expert. He supports multiple clients and designs architectures worldwide. He has assisted clients as an international consultant for IBM Workload Automation products. Juscelino’s areas of expertise include systems architecture, virtualization, networks, distributed systems, production control and systems administration. He holds numerous certifications on many products and heterogeneous technologies.

Joris Dircx is senior business intelligence consultant with over 12 years of experience in business intelligence solutions when it comes to Asset Management and Maximo in particular. As product manager Joris is also responsible for the development of analytic applications built in IBM Cognos on top of Maximo. After studying applied economics Joris started his career as part of the implementation team of enterprise asset management systems in Belgium. Joinig IBM in 2008 he used this opportunity to further expand his knowledge of business intelligence. Within IBM he became known as a profound believer of the analytic capabilities of Cognos with regards to Maximo. Joris now works for Mainnovation, the founding company of the Value Driven Maintenance methodology, where he helps Mainnovation in translating the methodology into a powerfull performance management tool using Cognos on top of Maximo, SAP... Because of his different roles Joris can be considered as an expert when it comes to the analytic capabilities and discovering the hidden treasure in your enterprise asset management system using state of the art business intelligence tools like Cognos.
Jos Verschuuren is the founder and still board member of the BeNeLux Tivoli User Group and the TUC Global Council. He is involved with Tivoli software since 1996 and involved with user groups since 1998, the foundation of the TUG in UK. In his free time, he likes travelling and reading.
Sanjay Patel is a Segment Manager / Technical Product Manager for the Tivoli Storage Software. His main areas of focus are Backup and Recovery, ensure customer's expectations are met or exceed with current TSM product portfolio, and interested to learn challenges faced by the customers in their data protection environment. Thomas Knowles is a product architect for the Maximo product line currently responsible for the design of IBM Intelligent Building Management. His main areas of focus are operational processes for asset management with an emphasis on building and IT asset management. He has been working with Maximo for the last 8 years as a designer for Tivoli Asset Management for IT and previously a consultant leading implementations of Maximo for key clients.
Paolo Tortiglione joined the council in March of 2012. He delivers training and consult for large companies worldwide. Paolo is an IBM TIVOLI Certified Senior Expert & Specialist on many areas across the Tivoli portfolio. Additionally, he is certified in all of the NETCOOL suite products and has been working with Cloud computing since 2008. He has more than 21 years of teaching and consulting, contacting hundreds people and dozen companies, specially the larger International and multinational companies.
