Featured User Group:
One of the most exciting Tivoli User Groups in the down
under has been making significant headway in 2005.
With only 6 meetings in 2004, the Melbourne
Australia Tivoli User Group has done a revamp of
their schedules and presentations. Now meeting every
month for 2 hours in the evening with a few drinks and
pizza, there is a greater focus on the benefits to the
user, which is allowing two Security, two Storage, two
Systems Management and two General meetings for the
whole year. With this new schedule, the Free
Certification testing, the Free Redi Training CDs and the
offer for a user who presents to dine with an architect
of their choice, attendance has boomed! In the
beginning the leaders struggled to get the group
moving and active but now the fruits of their labors are
starting to be seen. In addition to more people
attending the meeting, the group for first time already
has volunteers to speak at the next three meetings and
the users are contacting each other as resources. Go
Melbourne!

FREE Tivoli Certification testing offer at your TUG
meetings!
Tivoli Certification has expanded its testing delivery
capabilities so it can now offer free on-site testing at
TUG meetings to TUG members. These tests normally
cost $150 to $175 each. If your TUG would like to offer
testing, get in touch with your local IBM TUG contact
and they should then contact Kimberly Arceneaux
(karcenea@us.ibm.c
om) to ask about becoming a Tivoli
Certification Proctor. Exam delivery requires a PC with a
web browser, and Internet connection and quite
location in which to test, no other equipment or
software is necessary. Exams vary in length but
average 90 minutes. A list of the current Tivoli
certifications can be found on the IBM Certification
website at http://www-
03.ibm.com/certify/certs/tv_index.shtml.
Offering testing at your TUG meetings represents a
significant benefit you can give your members.
