Changes in IBM Certification Test Delivery for 2014

Effective January 2, 2014, the IBM Professional Certification Program will transition certification exam delivery to Pearson VUE (PVUE). All IBM mastery and certification exams will be delivered, worldwide, in Pearson VUE Test Centers (PVTC).

Testing candidates can register to take IBM exams at Pearson VUE starting December 18th with test delivery commencing January 2nd. IBM exams will not be available at Prometric Testing Centers after December 31, 2013.
IBM is working with Pearson VUE to ensure the transition is as easy as possible for IBM testing candidates. Testing candidates, who have taken an IBM exam, in the past, will be able to continue using their current Candidate Testing ID. Pearson VUE will also honor valid IBM promotion codes and IBM vouchers that IBM candidates have received prior to the transition

For 2014, IBM will be implementing a new security process during check-in at the Pearson VUE test center. After arriving at the PVTC, prior to taking the scheduled exam, the check-in process will require a digital signature and photo as part of the test takers records. This additional security step is designed to prevent testing fraud.

Pearson VUE has test centers worldwide in over 165 countries. You can find a PVTC near you, and register to take a test, by visiting the Pearson VUE website at www.pearsonvue.com/ibm

FREE EXAMS AT USER GROUP MEETINGS

Tivoli Certifications are an important way for your customers and business partners to distinguish their skills and earn recognition from IBM for the investment they have made in Tivoli skills. The Tivoli Certification Program has agreed to allow TUC members to take Tivoli Certification exam free of charge at TUG meetings - as a benefit for participating in a local TUG.

Test setup is much easier now than it has ever been in the past. The only tools you will need are PCs or laptops that have a browser and an Internet connection. The testing itself is 100% Web-based but to insure the integrity of the program, all testing is done in the presence of an authorized certification proctor.

IBM employees who work closely with Tivoli User Community User Groups are invited to become SWG certification proctors and deliver free Tivoli exams at their TUC User Group meetings. The process is quite simple:

  1. List the meeting on the TUC site and request  pre-approval to deliver Tivoli Certification exams at your event from the TUC management team.  Email  GroupGoTo@tivoli-ug.org with your meeting link to get this.
  2. After the TUC Management Team has provided pre-approval, to request a Test Session and actual approval to proctor the exam please click on the following link: http://g01zcidbs005.gho.pok.ibm.com/notesr5/cert/proctor.nsf/mainForm?OpenForm&page=70
Once that is completed, then forward your pre-approval to SWG Certification Request.

Note:  each TUC member may take 1 Tivoli certification exam for free per year.  Any subsequent Tivoli exams would be at 50% off.
